Reflecting on 2018

It’s hard to believe the year is winding down.  I used to listen in disbelief as my parents would say “The older you get, the faster time goes!”  Now that I’m in that age bracket, I completely understand what they were trying to say.  It’s amazing how smart my parents got, the older I got!  As I sit here and ponder where 2018 went in such a blur, I want to share a few things that I recall.

We had some employees retire after many years of service.  Although we miss their faces every day, we wish them much success in this new chapter of their lives.  And just as those retirements occur, the natural progression is that we hire new talent to help continue the growth of our agency and serve more clients; we have done just that bringing on a new client advisor in our commercial lines division.

Change is Certain

On a personal note, we have all had things change in our lives this year.  Some changes have been good and some have been challenging.  We celebrate the good with friends and family, and we empathize and pray for strength to persevere the challenges – for ourselves and others.  This can be an engagement, the birth of a new baby or the tragic loss of a loved one and many things in between.  We also look forward to the new year ahead with some optimistic enthusiasm for new change to come.

Being Thankful

I am thankful every day for our hard working, dedicated employees.  We all have a common thread that binds us beyond the employee/employer relationship.  Our amazing associates all care about each other; they genuinely care about our clients as people, and exceeding their expectations. We truly do have an extended family here and our employees “Make a Difference” to those they serve.  Our tasks aren’t always easy, but the rewards of doing the right thing, helping others, going the extra mile to advocate for someone in need, and “making a difference” make the years between when we were hired and when we retire worthwhile.  It’s also one of the reasons the average tenure of our staff is in the double digits!

Annual Insurance Review

As you reflect on your 2018, what has changed in your life?  Did you get married, buy a new car or home?   Did you have a new baby or did your child announce which college is in their future?  Perhaps you made plans to retire yourself next year.  We know things likely have changed for you too.  When change happens, don’t forget to review your insurance coverage to ensure adequate protection.  It’s an important and necessary part of life and one that’s often overlooked.  Asking us for a complimentary review of your coverage, personal or business, can save you a lot of aggravation and frustration.  Or, another one of my parent’s sayings, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!”  Now that makes sense too!
