Immediately following high school graduation, my career began in the insurance industry in Erie. I moved from the File Department to Personal Lines Insurance within a year. Then, I began a ten-year association with Donn Advertising Associates. Beginning in the Service Department, I moved into the detail-oriented position of Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and final Proofreader. Some of the industrial handbooks were a pretty dry read! My husband decided we should give our own business a go, so we purchased and operated a small neighborhood beer distributor. Other than our two sons, that was my focus for four years. Later, I worked ten years for a local forklift dealer as dispatcher and labor/parts accumulator for the team of mechanics at General Electric. Eventually, I needed a fresh start and returned to the insurance industry. Originally, I worked the front reception area, but then obtained my PA Property/Casualty Producers License to advance my career as a Customer Service Representative. I retired from that position after 18 years, but again, found myself drawn back into insurance and that is when I joined the team at LSi.
For three years, and before joining LSi, Bill and I spent the summers here in Erie and searched for warmer weather for the winter months. We loaded the Harley into our fifth wheel RV and traveled south. Our longest journey was year two; from Erie to Florida, then west to Las Vegas, and home again. Four months is a long time to be in a camper and away from family! We saw some beautiful areas of this country and met many wonderful people, but I discovered I’m not a gypsy at heart.
